1. Overview
MathChallenge is operated by Umpatech ("Umpatech", "we", "our" or "us"). We are responsible for the personal information processed through the MathChallenge mobile application.
This policy applies to the MathChallenge apps for Android and iOS and to the related support services. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we process
Account information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive your account identifier, email address, display name and profile image. Authentication is handled using Firebase Authentication.
Profile and learning data
We store information you add to your profile, such as your nickname and selected avatar, together with gameplay information including answers, scores, accuracy, response times, XP, streaks, achievements, game history and learning progress.
Rankings and groups
If you use rankings or groups, we process the nickname, avatar, scores and group activity needed to provide those features. Public rankings are designed to show a nickname and avatar rather than your email address.
Device and usage information
We may process app version, device and operating system information, feature interactions, diagnostic data and a notification token. Notification tokens are used only to deliver notifications you have enabled.
3. How we use information
- Provide authentication, profiles and cross-device progress synchronisation.
- Generate questions, learning insights, review recommendations and statistics.
- Operate rankings, groups, tournaments and achievements.
- Deliver requested reminders, ranking updates and group notifications.
- Keep the app secure, diagnose errors and improve performance and usability.
- Respond to support, privacy and account deletion requests.
Where applicable, we rely on performance of our service, our legitimate interest in operating and improving MathChallenge, your consent for optional features such as notifications, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We retain account and gameplay information while your account remains active and for as long as needed to provide MathChallenge. When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymise associated personal information unless limited retention is necessary for security, legal compliance or resolving disputes.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy. You can edit available profile fields inside the app, disable notifications in your device settings and request account deletion at any time.

You may also contact your local data protection authority if you believe your information has been handled unlawfully.
7. Children
MathChallenge is designed to support math practice and may be used by younger learners with the involvement of a parent, guardian or school. A parent or guardian may contact us to request access to or deletion of a child's information. We do not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MathChallenge evolves or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
